Rome-the Association of Cultures of the world presents on the days 27-28 and 29 May 2016 a cycle of cultural events focusing on the themes of dialogue and peace among peoples through Cinema and Music. A documentary and two concerts to reflect on the multiethnic face of our society and to share the art and experiences of distant worlds but united by the same ideals of knowledge and openness towards “the other by itself”. The initiatives take place during the feast of vesak, which celebrates every year the birth, enlightenment and awakening of the Buddha. This anniversary is the only Buddhist feast recognized by the Italian state in the text of the agreement signed in 2012 and is celebrated in our country the last weekend of the month of May.

CONCERTO SHǗ SǗRRUS-plays with the world at 21.00 o'clock the former church of Santa Maria in grottapinta, now Cappella Orsini, via di Grottapinta n. 21

Sunday 29 May-peace Agreements No. 5

At 19.30 The Association cultures of the World concludes the review of peace agreements with the Concerto No. 5 of Xu Li Ping (china) and Loten namling (Tibet), at the Teatro Sala Uno, Piazza di Porta San Giovanni N. 10.

Loten namling, A renowned Tibetan musician and songwriter, and Xu Li Ping, a player and great musician from China's ancient Pipa instrument, play together for the first Time.

Xu Li Ping (china)

Xu liping (RPC, 1968), Master of pipa, Guqin player and classical guitar, lives and works in Milan. Originally from Shanghai, He learns the rudiments of music from his grandfather, pipe musician, guzheng and Guqin. He undertook the study of the pipe with M ° Lin shicheng, who will continue to follow him at the Central Conservatory of Music of Beijing (beijing Zhongyang Yinyue xueyuan), where Xu Liping attends the courses and Graduates. Loten namling (Tibet)

Loten namling is a musician, Tibetan singer born in Dharamsala in 1963, residing in Switzerland and engaged on Tibet. He is the head of an innovative project, “Tibet Blues”, in which he explores new paths linking ancient songs to contemporary Culture. The 14th Dalai Lama spoke of Loten as “a dedicated and sincere singer with a strong and powerful voice.” Loten toured the world with his Tibetan lute, dramyin, singing the songs of the 6th Dalai lama, of Milarepa 2, and the authentic traditional songs of Tibet. Loten has played all over the world and dedicated his life to safeguarding the rich musical heritage of Tibet.
