The next encounter
is in development.

Conversations with artists, institutions, researchers, documentary partners and funders are open. The pilot encounter is being developed now. If the project has a potential fit with your work — or if you are simply curious — we would like to hear from you.

Accordi di Pace is not seeking a single institution to fund a concert. It is building a consortium of complementary partners around a repeatable artistic methodology.

Five pathways

Who we are
looking for.

Every partner relationship has a clear purpose. We prioritise relevance over prestige — a partner contributes because their capabilities solve a real need in the encounter ecosystem, not because their name adds institutional weight.

I For Artists

Exceptional musicians ready to enter another musical language.

Accordi di Pace selects musicians for artistic excellence, improvisational ability, curiosity and generosity — not for symbolic representation of a cultural position. The encounter asks something genuinely difficult: to enter a shared musical space with someone whose tradition is different from your own, without knowing what will emerge.

If you are a musician working across or between traditions, and the proposition interests you, we would like to hear from you. Introductions from trusted mutual contacts are particularly welcome.

What the encounter offers
  • Four to five days of shared time and musical exploration
  • A public performance and professionally recorded final improvisation
  • Documentary participation and archival record
  • Artist fee, travel, accommodation and full production support
  • Continued artistic relationship if both musicians choose it
II For Institutions

Cultural hosts who can give the encounter a home.

The encounter needs a physical home: a space where two musicians can rehearse, eat, rest and eventually perform before a small witness audience. Theatres, conservatories, cultural centres, foundations and festivals can all serve this role — what matters is the quality of attention they bring, not the size of the building.

The first conversation is simple: could this be a useful artistic project for your institution? We do not begin with budgets or formal proposals. We begin with the artistic fit.

What the partnership offers
  • A distinctive, intimate artistic event for your programme
  • Co-production credit and archival association
  • Documentary and recording assets
  • A credible transnational artistic methodology
  • Part of a growing European network of host institutions
III For Researchers

Academics who see the encounter as a site of serious study.

The Accordi di Pace encounter is a methodologically designed artistic event. It generates questions about listening, musical dialogue, intercultural trust, the role of shared time, and what improvisation reveals about human contact across difference. These are questions that benefit from rigorous academic attention.

We are seeking research partners — individuals or departments — in music, ethnomusicology, cultural diplomacy, conflict transformation or related fields, who can contribute to the development, evaluation and publication of the methodology.

What the partnership offers
  • Access to the encounter as a research case study
  • Methodology evaluation and comparative data across encounters
  • Student witnessing and educational opportunities
  • Co-authorship opportunities on methodology publications
  • A growing archive of documented encounters
IV For Documentary Partners

Producers and directors who understand the encounter as cinema.

Each Accordi di Pace encounter generates a documentary work: not a concert film, but an observational portrait of a temporary shared life. The camera follows what happens before the public enters — arrival, hesitation, meals, rehearsal, silence, disagreement, discovery, and the final improvisation witnessed for the first time.

We are seeking a documentary producer or director for the pilot encounter, and broadcasting or festival partners with the capacity and ambition to bring the work to wider audiences.

What the partnership offers
  • A distinctive, ethically complex artistic subject
  • Co-production credit and editorial collaboration
  • Professional multitrack audio archive from every encounter
  • Festival and broadcast distribution potential
  • A growing series of documentary works
V For Funders

Foundations and supporters investing in a demonstrated practice.

Accordi di Pace has a demonstrated artistic foundation: five encounters completed, a verified track record, and a clear development path from pilot to recurring European programme. The investment case is not to invent a new model but to develop an existing one — giving it the time, documentation, research capacity and institutional structure required to become sustainable.

Funding should follow the architecture of the project, not distort it. We are seeking support that matches the scale of what is actually being proposed — beginning with the pilot encounter — rather than a single funder asked to carry the entire ecosystem.

What the investment supports
  • Artist fees, travel, accommodation and production
  • Professional documentary and audio recording
  • Archival documentation and methodology evaluation
  • A clear path from pilot to recurring European programme
  • Measurable cultural impact across multiple encounters

The First Step

How a conversation
begins.

  1. 1
Start with the artistic fit We do not begin with budgets, grant requirements or formal proposals. The first question is always simpler: could this be a useful or meaningful artistic project for you or your organisation?
  2. 2
Write to us directly Send a short message to info@culturedelmondo.org describing who you are and what connection you see between your work and Accordi di Pace. There is no formal application process.
  3. 3
A first conversation If there is a genuine potential fit, we will arrange a conversation — in person where possible, by video otherwise. We share the full project documentation with anyone who asks for it.
  4. 4
From there, at the pace that makes sense Some relationships begin with a single pilot encounter. Others develop over time. We do not require large commitments before the artistic fit is established.
