Two musicians.
Two musical
languages.
One shared space.

Accordi di Pace brings together exceptional musicians from communities shaped by conflict or difficult histories. The medium is the encounter. The concert is the evidence.

A Ukrainian and Russian musician share a space — Kobza and Gusli, a bare hall, natural light
Connecting. Sharing. Listening.
Quiet cloister for the next stage
The next stage — time, space, rehearsal, exploration
The evolution

The concert was the beginning.
The encounter is the work.

The original format tested a proposition: that two musicians from different traditions, given time and shared space, could arrive somewhere neither could have reached alone.

The next stage extends that proposition. A four-to-five-day residential period of rehearsal, meals, conversation, silence and musical exploration before the public enters.

The concert remains the culmination.
What precedes it is the methodology.

Arrive. Rehearse. Explore. Risk. Play.
The method

Arrive. Listen. Share.
Play. Risk. Improvise.

A repeatable structure that creates the conditions for something genuinely new to emerge between two artists from different worlds.

Read the method →
Arrive
They enter the same space as individuals, not as representatives of a tradition or a conflict.
Listen
Each offers something of their own. The other receives it without judgment.
Share
Music, food, time and conversation create the conditions for something real.
Play
Repertoire becomes dialogue. One musician enters the other's musical language.
Risk
The structure opens. The outcome becomes uncertain. Both players move into the unknown.
Improvise
The final improvisation cannot be predicted or rehearsed in advance.
The film

The documentary
as parallel artistic work.

The camera follows what happens before the concert: arrival, hesitation, rehearsal, silence, disagreement, discovery.

Not a record of a performance, but a witness to a process. Each encounter documented as a standalone film and as part of a growing archive.

The next stage

From encounter to
European artistic research platform.

The pilot encounter will test the residential methodology for the first time. From there, the long-term development includes a recurring programme of encounters, a professional documentary archive, and research partnerships with European institutions.

  • A recurring residential encounter programme
  • A professional documentary archive
  • Research partnerships with universities and conservatories
  • Educational engagement
  • A network of European host institutions

"What happens when two human beings who come from divided worlds are given the time, space and freedom to meet through music?"

Every institutional structure, every partnership, every funding arrangement exists for one purpose: to give two musicians the time and space to arrive somewhere together. If the structure ever becomes visible to the artists, it has failed in its purpose.
